About The Manufacturer

Acana Singles are limited ingredient, single protein diets produced by Champion Pet Foods, a Canadian pet food company that specializes in making Biologically Appropriate pet diets: diets that are as close as possible to what the animal would naturally eat in the wild. All Champion Pet Food diets are made according to the whole prey model, which includes muscle meat, organ meat, bone, and cartilage in the diet. The whole prey model provides abundant sources of naturally-occurring amino acids, vitamins, and minerals, meaning that very few synthetic supplements have to be added to make the diet complete and balanced for your pet! Naturally-occurring nutrients are more bio-available than are synthetics, and are therefore of greater use to the body. Acana features fresh, regionally sourced ingredients that are preservative free and that are delivered to Champion Pet Food’s kitchens within two days of harvest. Acana Singles diets feature 60% meat and 40% fruits, vegetables, and botanicals.

Transition Instructions
It takes time to transition your pet to a new food without having digestive upset. Over the course of one to two weeks, you should gradually switch from the old food to the new. Start with a 75% old to 25% new mix, then 50:50, and finally 25:75, until you have switched to your pet's new food entirely.
