FirstMate Pacific Ocean Fish Large Breed Formula is a grain-free dry dog food featuring wild-caught herring as a single source, novel protein. The protein and fat levels have been carefully formulated to provide the ideal amount of calories required for a large dog, while omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids aid in healthy skin and coat. The easily digestible formula has glucosamine to ensure joint health and the large size kibble allows for controlled eating for larger dogs.

About The Manufacturer

FirstMate founder, Michael Florian came to be in the pet food business through an interesting route. After years as a commercial fisherman, Michael began manufacturing fish feed the burgeoning salmon farming industry in British Columbia. Dogs were used on the farms to guard the stock from predators, but they enjoyed feeding themselves with the fish feed. Michael began to formulate a dog food that would keep them satisfied and use the same high quality ingredients, and FirstMate was born.

 Transition Instructions

It takes time to transition your pet to a new food without having digestive upset. Over the course of one to two weeks, you should gradually switch from the old food to the new. Start with a 75% old to 25% new mix, then 50:50, and finally 25:75, until you have switched to FirstMate food entirely.
