With 62 stores located throughout  California. Our corporate offices, Pet Food University, and distribution center are all located in Oakland, California.  

We love pets! It is the glue that unites our company. Employees and customers are welcome to bring their well-behaved pets to our stores. As part of our commitment to animal welfare, we have helped find homes for over 61,000 homeless animals through Pet Food Express Adoptions and we work closely with and materially support numerous local SPCAs and pet rescue organizations. Additionally, we sponsor adoptions, low-cost vaccination clinics, and dog training classes at most of our stores. Our state-of-the-art Self-Service Pet Washes provide a unique and useful service for our customers. We truly try to be a welcome asset to each of the local communities that we serve!

All retailers make this claim but how many of them actually live it?  We see our customers as people, not just as wallets.  We know that you love your pets as we love ours so we discover and honor the needs and wants of each individual that visits us.  Shop with us and you will see that we offer a different environment in which to shop for your special friends.  In order to be effective in this, we educate and train our employees but more than anything else, it is our employees’ love and passion for pets that sets them apart and inspires them to do whatever it takes to earn your trust and make you happy.

 



Our Low Price Guarantee

We will beat our competitor's price on any identical item! 


How it works: If the price of the item is $10.00 or less, we will beat the competitor's price by 10%. If the price of the item is more than $10, we will beat it by $1.00. Guarantee does not apply to Acana and Orijen brand foods. 
Example: A competitor sells an item for $5.00 and PFE sells it for $6.00.  We will sell it to you for $4.50 (10% of $5.00)

Who is a competitor? Any retail store in our market area. We must be able to verify the competitor's price through a current ad, a receipt dated within the prior 30 days, or a phone call to the retailer. 

What makes an item identical? The product, packaging, size, weight, and condition must all be identical. We may also match the purchase terms, conditions, or limitations applied by our competitor.

Return Policy

If your pet doesn't like it, we'll take it back. 

If your pet doesn't like the food you bought from us, simply return it in the original package along with your receipt within 30 days. We will exchange it for a food that your pet will love. 

Got your receipt? Within 30 days of purchase, new items with packaging and receipt will be refunded. Credit and debit card purchases will be credited to the same card within 3-5 business days. Cash purchases will be refunded in cash. 

No receipt? We're happy to issue an exchange or store credit at the lowest retail price in the last 60 days.

Refunds, credits, and exchanges require your name, address, and photo I.D. (Calif. Civil Code Sec. 1723).
